From Chorire by the Canon de Colca

to Pampacolca (about 85 100 km ) then it's over. End of the road. All back again! And on to Arequipa. In the gorge there is to be condors. Even if they were to be flown there, I could not see them. I did not want to fly myself, I had to concentrate on track and the gusty winds case.

The gorge will be more than twice as deep as the North American Grand Canon, but the scenery is impressive. Nevertheless, the view down is impressive.

Even today, all day desert and strong side wind. But suddenly, in the valley to the entrance of the Canon de Colca: Green! The river carries enough water to rice to build.

Zwischenstopp vor Nasca um die beruehmten Linien zu sehen. Seit ich vor ca. 40 Jahren Erich von Daenikens Phantasierereien ueber die Entstehung dieser Flaechen-Figuren las, will ich sie selbst sehen. Vom ca.25 m hohen Turm kann man zwei der Figuren gut betrachten. Die Linien entstanden, weil Menschen einfach systematisch Steine von der geroelluebersaeten Ebene entfernt haben. Ich hatte mir die Figuren groesser vorgestellt, bin etwas enttaeuscht. Mein lieber EvD, wenn ich so Dein Scribblings compare with reality, I must conclude that you are probably never been here, but in any case fabulierst very purposeful. Your ideas are alien.

Here I meet David & David from London. They are with their Yamahas, an XT 600 and a XT660R (like mine) move. Where: Of course, Tierra del Fuego, about Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina - just like me, only the Canon de Colca, they give themselves. So we part ways again. You have searched on the way up here a little detour through Russia, Mongolia, China Canada made. The rest of the trip is similar to mine.
